A feeling of bliss overwhelms you when you turn the corner at the church and enter Marie & Matthias' yard. Matthias is the fourth generation of champagne farmers in his family. The house is part of a cooperative with which they share equipment, discuss ideas and can buy grapes from, for example if part of the harvest has failed. The best thing about Matthias & Marie is their drive for innovation. The most famous example is the Alexiana (about which more below).
